Homemade Bug Spray

It’s not my fault.

It’s really not.

It turns out my Love Bug hates, and I mean HATES, bugs. While visiting Mom and PC a couple weeks ago, she went a bit hysterical about a black fly buzzing around the house. I tried to explain that it was a simple fly but nothing got through the shrieking.

Maybe it runs in the family…..

One time, in the not so distant past, my sister (who is only 3 short years younger than me) was sitting in the back seat of my car keeping Love Bug company. We stopped to chat with my mom in her car and rolled down the windows. Suddenly an extremely huge bird sized a regular sized moth flew near J’s head and she panicked. While trying to escape this horrendous moth, she smashed her face into the side of Bug’s car seat.

And yes, it was hilarious to watch.

Moving on.

I recently came across a recipe for a homemade bug spray in my ReadyMade magazine and thought it would be a good thing to make. It is safer than other bug sprays, which is good with Sweet J in close proximity and we will never run out (as long as I continue washing my dishes). Plus, Bug can manage her own bug issues now and I won’t be called over every 45 seconds to kill another horrible bug.

And Bug takes bug killing very seriously.

Bug Spray

spray bottle
8 oz water
1 Tbsp dish soap

Combine the water and soap in the spray bottle and start spraying bugs! I did a double batch to fill the sprayer.

And if the soapy stuff doesn’t kill them, they will surely drown.

Either way, the bugs are going down.

Take care.
