It was cooooooolddddddddd here yesterday. I won’t complain. It’s about time. And I’m not adverse to some snow. It’s wintertime. I have this theory that the seasons have to happen in order and if winter doesn’t happen now, it’s gonna happen later, when it’s supposed to be spring or summer. So come on already winter. Let’s get it over with.
I like cooking and making food when it’s really cold outside. I like it because we are hunkered down inside the house together. Like it’s us against the elements. Also, it’s pretty nice to hang by the oven and stay extra warm.
This recipe is a recent “find”. By “find” I mean, I happened by my friend Dawn’s house to drop something off when she was cleaning up dinner, putting away her leftovers. She invited me to try them and I went on to eat three pieces. So much for leftovers. :)
It’s a recipe from her husband’s mom and we have been enjoying it immensely. It’s delicious, easy to put together and doesn’t take long to do or bake. It’s like the trifecta of pizza doughs.
If you don’t have plans for dinner tonight, you should give this a try.
1 cup of warm water with 2 teaspoons of yeast. Stir to combine.
Add in 2½ cups flour, ¾ tsp salt, 2 tablespoons oil and 2 teaspoons sugar.
Pat out on a greased cookie sheet.
It pats out to a nice not-to-thick, not-to-thin crust.
Then, let the dough sit for 10 minutes. It rises just a little.
After the 10 minutes, start adding stuff. For us, we start is pizza sauce.
As for toppings, we dedicate one-third to Love Bug. For her, we stick with the standard – pepperoni.
The other two-thirds is for me and MJ. Our current favorite is bacon and jalapenos. Seriously, try it. Seriously.
Get it all just right. Bug liked sprinkling the cheese.
Bake at 400° for 15-20 minutes. We like it cooked to golden, brown deliciousness.
Yummy, yum, yum.
Here’s the full recipe.

I like how quick this is to make! I buy the store premade dough because I’m too impatient, but I like that the dough doesn’t take that long to make. Sanks!
Makes me want pizza now. Let me know the next time you make it so I can stop over and eat your leftovers :)
Nice! My go-to pizza dough is one that rises…I like this for a quick weeknight dinner. So quick! And it seems like I ALWAYS have pizza toppings hanging out in my freezer. Great recipe post!
