Spring Fling: Cardboard Tube Napkin Rings

How about some more springy inspiration for your table?

How about something that costs next to nothing to make?

Then these cardboard tube napkin rings are for you.

They add just a hint of color to a table setting. In this case, bright, springy color.

What you need:

  • cardboard tubes
  • cardstock
  • ribbon
  • hot glue gun

To begin, cut the cardboard tube into rings at your desired height. I cut mine to 1 inch high.

To make them a little more sturdy, I doubled them up. The inner ring needs to be a bit smaller than the outer ring so I cut a little sliver out of the inner ring.

Then I hot glued the inner ring in place.

They look a little gnarly at this point but they get prettier.

Because I like to have a white base on which to add color, I glued white cardstock on the rings for my next step. It’s not necessary but I’m a stickler for pure color.

Using left over ribbon from this project, I wrapped the rings in ribbon, holding things in place with hot glue.

So pretty! So springy!

These will liven up any table, especially if your settings are white.

You can use any ribbon you fancy so the possibilities are endless. They can be easily adapted to any holiday or color scheme. Plus, they don’t take up too much space so storage won’t be a hassle.

Take care.
