Two weekends ago, we visited an apple orchard with some friends. It was sublime weather. Sunshine, blue skies, it was perfect. We enjoyed our time there, especially the company. :) Our visit was to Minnetonka Orchards in Minnetrista, Minnesota. It’s a lovely little place, tucked in to the rolling hills on the west side of the Twin Cities. Our little group arrived close to when the orchard opened in hopes of beating the crowds.
After we got the stroller packed and everyone situated, we decided, first things first, donuts were a must. We hoofed it up to the top of a hill where sits a little general store filled with cute foodie items and decor.
Right next to that sits a little spot where they make up the best little sugar and cinnamon donuts. They were warm and crisp and delicious. While we feasted on donuts, we were serenaded by live music, a guy and his guitar. It was a great way to start the day.
The little store had lots of apples to peruse.
Bug got her face painted. Now every time she sees this picture or we are in a store, she asks about buying face paint to recreate the butterfly.
In addition to delicious donuts and apples and live music, there was apple picking, trails for walking, slides and other children play things (pictured below), a few animals to pet, a corn maze, the ‘Apple Express’ cart ride (pictured below), a bouncy house and other things we didn’t get to take in.
We stayed for as long as the children allowed and then we tucked them in the car for a snooze on the way home. The apples made the car smell so good.
Are you planning any orchard or pumpkin patch trips?
Take care.
This was supposed to go up tomorrow but better-but-not-all-the-way-better babes make doing anything challenging.
