Last fall, as part of the Cricut Design Space Challenge, I created simple holiday gift tags and I really liked how they turned out. I liked them so much I decided to make a few versions for Valentine’s Day. It’s a basic gift tag shape with basic block text but the combination is just darling. As we package up little treats to mail to our family this week, I look forward to adding these tags as the finishing touch.
Unlike the holiday tags, I added strips of ribbon and string to Valentine tags for extra sweetness. Even though I have a good collection of ribbon and string, I rarely use them (but love my collection). Dressing up these tags really made me smile.
Like the conversation heart projects I’ve shared – envelopes and magnets – I used familiar Valentine phrases. Of course I wanted to do lots more but tried to keep it simple with just three. Aren’t the colors fab?!
Supplies:
-paper
-Cricut Explore
-simple text images
-ribbons
Upload the text images into the Cricut Design Space.
Remove all but the text outline and save. It’s now an image you can use however you’d like.
Now you can layer the text image with your choice of shape. I layered my Valentine phrases with simple gift tags and cut them out in a handful of rosy hues.
Once cut, you can add ribbons and string or leave them plain, like I did with the holiday tags.
Pop them on a gift and give them to your loves.
