Bacon-Wrapped Tater Tots….Because Yum

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Kraft Heinz. The opinions are all mine.

Next to Alaska, Minnesota has the second highest concentration of hockey players. Being that MJ and I grew up out-of-state, we are still learning what it means to be from inside a hockey state. Our teen neighbor is, like, a big deal hockey player. We watch games with hockey-pro friends and ask a million questions. This winter, Sweet J found two hockey pucks on the ice rink in the park nearby so I feel like we are really getting there. Kraft Hockeyville, a partnership between Kraft Heinz and the NHL, is an annual campaign for local rinks to win the chance to host an NHL game and money for upgrades. To go along with their campaign, Kraft created a collection of Rink-Ready Recipes and we had to try one. To feel like we fit in.

With our new diet, we tickled our taste buds with bacon-wrapped tater tots. It’s not something I thought of on my own but we love both bacon and tater tots and man, we love them together. They are salty and crispy and the center is tater tots! Winning! With a little mayo/ketchup dip, it’s a perfect pair.

The bacon-wrapped tater tots are a cinch to put together and bake for less than 30 minutes. Our family gobbled them up and I’ve added this little idea to my recipe box. I think these will be a fabulous appetizer. I think this will be a favorite literally everywhere we go.

Bacon-Wrapped Tater Tots….Because Yum

Recipe by Kraft

Ingredients

  • Tater Tots:
  • 24 Ore-Ida Tater Tots
  • 12 slices of Oscar Mayer Bacon, cut crosswise in half
  • Dipping Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup Kraft Mayo with Olive Oil Reduced Fat Mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp Heinz Tomato Ketchup

Instructions

  1. Wrap 1 (half) piece of bacon around each tater tot.
  2. Place on a foil-wrapped pan with a rack or a broiler pan.
  3. Bake the wrapped tots at 375F for 25 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp, turning after 15 minutes. Be sure to cook the tater tots seam side down, otherwise the bacon might come off in the first 15 minutes!
  4. Mix the mayo and ketchup together
  5. Dip cooled tots into the mix and enjoy!
