Before the preschool year was officially on its way, I sewed a few skirts for Bug’s wardrobe. Love Bug is a skirt and dress kind of lady; all outfits must have something that spins. There are different levels of “spinnability” which directly correlate to how she is feeling on a day-to-day basis.
As I’ve said before, sewing is not my strong suit but these skirts are really straight forward and I’ve made enough of them that I get it. For these, I went the extra mile and made them just as perfectly as I could. I used two fat quarters for each of the batik fabric skirts, the teal seersucker was something from my growing collection. I love batik fabric. I have some of the red variation set aside for a skirt for myself. Hope to get that done soon.
With these skirts turning out so well, I’m going to pick up more colors next time I’m at the fabric store. :)
Bug is quite a ham. Such a joyful, funny spirit. A dancer too.
I’m so thankful she agrees to acquiesce to my requests for photos.
We are ending our week in Iowa. In addition to seeing family for the what-now-has-become-an-annual weekend, my art show comes down and with the help of my dad, we are transporting the pieces. We have a lot to get in in the next four days. It’s going to be great!!
