Cardboard Roll Heart Ornaments

Happy Monday to you all! Hope you had a nice weekend.

I still have a couple more party posts to share with you but it’s almost February and I haven’t even mentioned Valentine’s Day. I adore this holiday. Not for the outrageously priced flowers or for wishes of sparkly jewelry.

No. I like it for the simple things: everything is red and covered in hearts.

Last year, I made some really easy ornaments using stickers. I decided to follow up with another easy ornament idea using cardboard tubes.

Or, less sophisticated sounding, toilet paper rolls.

TP roll projects are all the rage on Pinterest and I’m nothing if not trendy. Don’t laugh sister dear. :)

Gather up your supplies.

To make them look less TP roll like, I gave mine a quick coat of paint, inside and out.

Then I creased them and cut them up like so.

I added a bit of doodle detail on some of them.

To make the hearts, take two pieces and glue them together.

Because the tubes are a paper material, you can use any paper glue. I was going for a quick and strong hold with my glue choice.

Bunch-o-hearts.

Then string them up and hang ’em.

Happy day!

Take care.
