Change Gonna Come

Frustrated. That’s how I feel. Ugh!

I have a lot of plans for this week (which is probably the first problem – making plans in the first place). Lots of errands, special trips to a few stores I don’t get to very often, larger scale home projects and maybe even a couple of movies during non-nap time/bedtime hours. Love Bug is spending the week in Iowa with my mom and PC, though Sweet J and I will be joining her at the end of the week. MJ, sadly, won’t be accompaning us because he has his church league softball tournament this weekend. We aren’t very good supporters, I guess, but Go Team! anyway.

So I’m a bit perturbed because I spent a lot of the morning (2+ hours) on the phone again with tech support on issues with my computer. Not fun. At. All. And all the issues still aren’t resolved. Annoying!! Moving on.

Yesterday, Sweet J and I tooled around the cities, hitting a few places I don’t visit while alone with two children, especially when one child is as quick and bouncy as Love Bug. One stop was a Salvation Army store in downtown where the basement is filled with “as is” items from a large retailer based here. I scored three shirts for $12 though there was a lot more to check out. I just don’t have the shopping stamina. Then J and I met a good college friend at the mega store IKEA and we got to catch up while checking out all the cool stuff there.

Despite the slow start today with tech support, I am determined to keep going.

On my list are three changes for three different rooms: Bug’s room, our room and the kitchen.

For Love Bug’s room, the plan is to rearranging the art and add in a few more kid-centered items on the walls.

See a cake replica of the painting hanging on the wall here.

For our bedroom, I want to get the headboard adjusted, finally, after my big score. And, while it will be an ongoing project, begin rearranging the wall art in there as well.

And for the kitchen, I’m a little nervous about this one. So, as not to jinx myself and not totally build up something that could completely fail, I’m just going to say it’s a large, multi-step fix that will take a while to complete.

Any big plans you are undertaking?

I will continue to persevere. Even if Sweet J begs me to take another nap with him.

Take care.
