I am terribly delinquent with this. No matter. A good time was had and I’m very excited to share it.
Back in May, I planned and hosted the first gathering of the Creative Coterie of Minnesota with the help of Christine of Foxglove Market & Studio. As it says under the tab up there at the top, the Creative Coterie is a gathering of creatives in Minnesota. All kinds of creatives. Content creators or bloggers like me, stylists, florists, designers, planners, photographers, small business owners, branding professionals plus a few on their way to figuring out their creative places in the world. The point of the group is to create a local community of creative professionals, a place to find professional support and network. There is a lot of good happening here in the cities and I want people to know about it.
As I said, the inaugural meeting was held at Foxglove Market & Studio on Grand Ave in St. Paul. Christine Hoffman, the shop owner and curator, has created a gorgeous space filled with an assortment of wonderful items. Perusing the store thoroughly takes some time. Go too fast and you’re sure to miss something. Her space offered a beautiful gathering place for us creatives. I added in a few sewn garlands, because I love sewn garlands, but the lovely eclectic atmosphere was supplied by Christine’s shop. Big, big thank you to Christine! The event looked so cool because of her lovely space!
And what did we do? We chatted and laughed and talked business. It’s refreshing and stress-relieving (at least for me) to talk to people who understand the challenges of working in the creative field. Sure, it is a job like any other but there are challenges and pitfalls other occupations don’t have.
The one thing I request from the attendees was for them to write down a few things they were interested in learning or discussing with a group like this. Because I want the events to offer some bits of industry-helping information, the ideas will help guide my planning for future gatherings.
It was fun. I had a great time. And I was so thankful for those who came. I’m currently getting plans together for another meeting slated for late October (and I’m excited!!). If you are a Minnesota creatives and I haven’t bugged you yet, get in touch and I will add you to my ever-growing list. More is better!

Huge thank you to my sweet friend and fabulous photographer, Kristine Erickson. The fact that I can share about the event now is all thanks to her lovely photos. She is really the best!!
This sounds like such a great event, Amy! I wish I was local and could come to the next one. :)
