This little project is all thanks to my Love Bug. After seeing a similar heart headband in a store last month, she asked me if I could make one like it for her, a question I get a lot (and love!). :) And since she has the memory of an elephant, we had to get this one done.
The plan quickly morphed into more than just a heart and I wanted the shapes to be changeable, instead of permanently stuck. We talked about what shapes she wanted and what colors. I absolutely love collaborating with her. I like getting her opinion and she is quite the brainstormer. She kept the ideas a’coming. I have at least two more drawn up and ready to do.
They are very simple to make and there is something very peaceful about sewing things by hand. Here’s what you need:
-colored felt
-embroidery floss
-needle
-clip
-hot glue gun
-stuffing, optional
Trace desired shape on the felt and cut out two of them, a back and front.
Sew around the edge with the embroidery floss.
If you want to use stuffing to give it a little shape, leave a small opening, fill it and then sew it closed.
Keep stitching to your hearts content.
Once the sewing is complete, add a line of glue to the clip
and stick it to the backside.
Clip the shapes to any headband. I wish I looked this cute wearing them.
Love Bug makes up for the fact that she only has one head and usually wears two or three at a time. This lady loves her accessories.
Love my Love Bug.
Take care.
