Filling Easter Baskets with Fun with Fisher-Price

Filling Easter Baskets with Fun with Fisher Price | this heart of mine

This will be our first Easter in our new home and I am really, really excited for it: Easter baskets, a more-fancy-than-a-weeknight meal, an egg hunt (crossing our fingers for nice weather on the day!!). I’m particularly excited for the egg hunt. We’ve done a few hunts here and there but they were either in yards belonging to family or friends or inside. But this year, it will be in our own yard! I’m going to hide the eggs throughout the whole space and I’ll probably have to make myself a map so I can remember where I put them. Haha!

Next to the egg hunt, I’m most looking forward to putting together Easter baskets for my three beebos. As a child, my brother, sister and I used the same baskets every year – blue for my brother, pink for me and yellow for my sister – I loved waking up Easter morning to sift through the goodies. I feel all nostalgic just thinking about them. I found a set of three baskets, not as cool as the ones from my childhood, but it still made my heart happy. For Easter, I use the baskets (just like I use Christmas stockings,) to refill regular life stuff: shampoo, toothbrushes, bath toys, etc. This one for Pipsqueak includes his own set of utensils and a few new small cups. I filled his little eggs with some of his little snacks too (which I’m sure I’ll have to pick up off the floor).

I do like to include an item or two for pure fun as well. This year, I’m tucking in two of Fisher-Price’s new wooden toys for Pipsqueak. I’m a sucker for wooden toys. They feel better and look better (in my opinion). :) Both boys were clambering to get the Rhythm & Roll Percussion Plane and the shape-imals owl out of the packages as soon as they could. A little noise making and character play (the owl is a cute friend), and the basket is done.

Pipsqueak came. He saw. He threw everything around and had a blast.

What do you put in your Easter baskets? If I were making my own, I want a soft blanket, a warm drink and a nap. And a bag of those mini Cadbury eggs. Yum.
