Cricut is celebrating color with a Summer Color series and we joined the fun! I love Cricut and this series was just the incentive to pull out my Cricut Explore and hook it up to the new Mac. Even after six or so years of cutting paper, I still get excited when I push the ‘Cut’ button.
Flamingo Pink is the celebrated color this week and it fits my Love Bug to a T (or tee). Using pink vinyl and glitter vinyl, I created a geometric heart design on a pink tee for her. I LOVE how it turned out so much I’ll be making one for myself. And maybe a tote or two. Never having worked with vinyl, I was nervous to try but it is fabulous stuff. The Explore cut it with ease and applying it was a cinch. What really impressed me was the quality of the vinyl. It feels and moves like a non-DIY vinyl tee. That, in itself, is amazing. Sweet J is wondering his tee is; he has the perfect car design picked out.
I still remember my first Cricut, purchased from that infomercial at 5am while my little Bug played and I held my eyes open. When I use the Cricut Explore, I am often in awe of how far it’s come. The online Design Space is intuitive and a blast to work in, the library is stuffed with cool designs (and features some of my friends’ design!) and this machine can do so much! Even doodle. Isn’t that light bulb darling? And I still love my sewn paper garlands. Now that it’s hooked up, the children and I have a list of things we want to make and I am inspired to try more vinyl designs, way more than one person needs. Anyone one want anything? :)

Have you done a tutorial on how to make these paper chains? I adore these!
Hey Carrie – I’ve made lots of paper garlands (which is what I think you are referring to) and this one might have the most info on how to do it. http://www.thisheartofmineblog.com/2014/03/19/baby-shower-garlands/ If you have any other specific questions, let me know!
