Happy New Year’s Eve to you!
It’s my golden birthday today. I’m not feeling very nostalgic today or advice-filled, like last year. Just overwhelmingly thankful for the life I have. Thankful for my funny husband and squeezable, kissable children. For my family and friends, near and far. For shelter, food and warmth. For laughter and tears. For the big and the small things. I am so thankful.
I am so thankful for you all as well. Thank you for supporting me and supporting this blog. I don’t know the majority of you but we have a creative connection and for me, that is a lot. 2013 is going to be great and I can’t wait to see it through with you.
I am working on invites for the golden party we are throwing in a few weeks. More party than birthday, as usual. For the invites, I had a vision of a blown glitter image, gold sparkles everywhere. The sun is out today, shining beautifully which is lovely but means it is frigid. Can’t really wear mittens with all the adjusting and messing around I had to do so my fingers were chilly! My children broke my tripod so a step stool and towel made a makeshift stand for me.
It took a little while to figure out how and where to stand to get in the frame correctly (upper left). I would have asked MJ but he was running errands with both children(!) and you’ve seen his work. Haha! Also it took some time to get the timing just right (or totally wrong like the upper right picture). I got really cold but my hood is a big too furry (bottom left) and I tried to use the glitter sparingly since each shot was a guestimation but the answer always is more glitter. :)
I think I’m going to try again when my fingers warm up a bit. And I need more glitter. :)
Have a wonderful eve of the new year.
See you next year.
First, Happy Belated Birthday! Secondly, love that top shot! Thought it was so fantastic when I saw it on Instagram! Happy New Year too! Wow, that was a lot of exclamation points…! Ha. Sorry ’bout that. :)
