Hello Again

Excuse my absence. Life gets away from me sometimes.

First, a cute story about Love Bug. She has recently showed lots of interest in the baby signing books we have. MJ and I have both read through the books with her and practice the signs.

Last night, MJ and Bug were running through the ones they could remember while MJ and I finished eating. Bug was not interested in eating and so she was deep into the dress-up bin, wearing her blue skirt, a black cat tail and cat bell. MJ asked Bug if she remembered the sign for cat. Without skipping a beat, Bug cupped her hand around her mouth and whispered “cat”.

Well said.

As I’ve shared before, Bug loves wearing dresses or “princesses” as she calls them. I recently pulled out a new dress that she now fits into and she has worn it almost every day since. Thankfully she decided to wipe her hands on it while out for dinner with friends so we’ve had reason to keep it hostage in the laundry for a few days.

Also in my box of clothes-Bug-will-grow-into, I found two pairs of rain boots. Bug LOVES one pair in particular and has worn them most days as well. I’ve had to tune out the boot clomps.

Like most Mid-westerners, we are still experiencing fabulously cold, snowy weather which doesn’t mesh very well with thin, sleeveless dresses or non-insulated rain boots. So, one day, when Bug was adament about wearing both the boots and dress when we ventured out, this outfit was created.

Again, the face was her idea. She has mastered the fish hook eyebrow. Just like her momma.

She had to wear the cardigan to cover her arms and the striped tights with yellow socks over top as insulators for her feet.

If it wasn’t out of necessity, it would probably be labeled eccentric. And, except for the part of wearing the same outfit for five days in a row, I like this personality trait.

Stay warm. It’s really cold here. And I heard very discouraging weather news for next week. I don’t want to repeat it thus tempting it to come true.

We are looking forward to a family wedding this weekend. Like really looking forward to it. So excited!!

Take care.
