Homemade Baby Wipes

Yep.

You can make them yourself.

Who knew?!

I learned this DIY from the moms in the class Love Bug and I attended this last school year. I didn’t really have a need to make wipes until Sweet J arrived. But he’s here and wipes are again in demand so here’s how it’s done.

Homemade Baby Wipes

What you need:

1 roll of Bounty Paper Towel – other brands will not work
*regular size sheets, not select-a-size

2 tubs with lids

Warm water

Baby Oil

Baby Magic Baby Wash

**One “batch” makes two sets of wipes. My pictures just show one set. Sorry for the confusion.

Cut the paper towel roll in half with a sharp knife or electric blade.

Pour 1 cup of warm water, 1 Tbsp of baby oil and 1 Tbsp of Baby Magic Baby Wash into each tub. Mix together.

Place 1 half of the paper towel roll in each tub.

Seal and allow it to soak overnight.

The next day, open the tub, remove the cardboard tube from the center and discard.

Pull wipes from the middle to use.

There you have it. All ready for whatever needs wiping. : )

Take care!

  1. Where did you get the container? Its perfect! I’ve always used an ice cream bucket but I like that better!

  2. Hi where do you get the tubs…I dont use petroleum based products to make my wipes but I love the tubs you have!! thanks for sharing!

  3. The container is a discontinued product made by Michael Graves for Target. A similar product would be the Oxo Round Pop Container. Hope that helps!
