Link Love – Art

Happy Wednesday.

This day started entirely too early.

And from the looks of it, it might be a very long day.

Anyway, I have a few links to share today, all art related. Enjoy.

Have a great day!

It takes a brave man to wear pink and an even braver one to wear a pink tutu. I absolutely love these photos. Photographer site. Site to images.

An awesome article to read if you need a good laugh. Design Mom shared Nathan Ripperger‘s hilarious posters recently inspired by the things he has said to his children. The posters and the subsequent comments had me crying with laughter.

First, Nathan Ripperger‘s posters. These are two of my favorites.

I mean, seriously, you have to be cracking up.

Then, head on over to Design Mom and read all the comments submitted by other parents tricked into saying hilarious things because of their children.

I really couldn’t think of one to share because I was too busy doing my ugly laugh.

Just last evening, I saw a segment on the Google Art Project. It’s an online collection of artworks from museums around the world with the option to virtually tour the museums as well. My favorite part is having the ability to zoom in on pieces like Van Gogh’s The Starry Night and see the individual strokes. You can even see the cracks that have developed in the paint overtime.

The Google Art Project doesn’t include every piece from each museum featured, just a healthy dose which makes an art history nut like myself want to drag out all my books and notes and . And it’s not made to replace visiting museums but it sure does make it easier. And less costly. Because I’m not sure when I would be in Moscow next.

Now I can study The Starry Night in my PJs.

While I eat my yogurt.

With my children playing around me.

Bliss.
