Paper Leaf Garland

After Friday’s post on Distressing Paper, I spent some down time cutting out leaf shapes I found on Google Images. As my piles grew, Love Bug grew more interested in playing with them all. And after one “oh, the leaves are falling all around”, I decided it was time to put the leaves away till later.

So later, I decided a leaf garland was the thing to do. Simple. As. Pie. A phrase I’ve never really understood. Making a pie is tough, perfecting the crust anyway. Eating it on the other hand… Maybe that’s what the reference is.

Supplies:

  • Distressed paper, or natural fiber paper, something “leaf-like”
  • Leaf shape
  • Scissors
  • Sewing machine

After cutting out my leaves in three different sizes (same image, increased and decreased by 25%), I simply fed the leaves through my machine, leaving equal spacing between each leaf.

Now where to hang it.

MJ is chanting “Sticks, leaves and pumpkins, oh my! Sticks, leaves and pumpkins, oh my!” Love that man.

I have another paper leaf project to share tomorrow so see you then!

Take care.

  1. Hi Amy,
