Yesterday, before the horrendous cold front settled in, we had the chance to go sledding with some good friends. The mid-20s are much more cozy than 8 degrees or -8 degrees, which is what we are headed for.
Anyway, it was Love Bug’s first ‘real’ sledding experience and it did not start out well.
MJ took her down for her first ride and at the bottom, she shed some tears. She did sustain a face full of gentle snow mist which can be very traumatizing.
After that, we had to do a lot of convincing.
Slowly, she agreed to help push people down the hill on their respected sleds.
Then she agreed to slide down the hill with a friend on her bottom.
This progressed to walking, then running, down the hill, accompanied by peals of laughter.
Then, near the end of our time, she was confident enough to get on another sled and ride with a friend down the hill. Slowly. With her face covered.
Love Bug and MJ did not ride together again. Her wishes. Not his. : )
The hill we sledded on was just perfect for little kids and big kids alike. Good sized but not too gigantic for short legs to climb.
MJ even tried some stunts. And I may have tried to torpedo him a few times. All unsuccessful attempts.
All in all, it was a fun day for all.
Can’t wait to go again.
Will have to wait for it to warm up, however.
Take care.
