As a maker, one of the few things I haven’t figured out how to make yet is a nice pair of shoes. So when Sole Provisions contacted me about reviewing a pair of their shoes, I jumped at the chance. After our trip to Alt NYC this summer, I had every intention of writing up a post on my attire for our trip. I wanted to share because right before the trip (like the night before) I bought my first pair of flat, supportive, non-athletic-shoes for walking around NYC and was extremely happy with them. But then the summer of sickness happened at our house and I forgot. But now, Sole Provisions has given me another relevant excuse to talk about my feet.
I have a pair of high need feet. I have (really) high arches and a sensitive spot on the pads of my feet. Most days are spent barefoot so I don’t notice their finickiness. However, if I wear shoes without adequate support, my feet, along with my legs and back, start to ache. This summer, after noticing my much-loved flip flops actually hurt my feet, ankles and legs, I began to worry that I was going to be relegated to ‘sturdy’ shoes with ‘super support’. You know what I’m talking about: inwardly they might be amazing, but outwardly, they are not.
Sole Provisions has shoes that are amazing on the inside and the outside. Quality shoes that not only support feet but look good doing it. I’ve worn them for class with Sweet J, I’ve worn them for running errands and taxiing back and forth to school and my feet feel great. None of that soreness or exhaustion that I have experienced with other shoes. The interior supports my feet in all the right places. The pair I have on is Aida Tan, shoes from the Dr. Andrew Weil Integrative Footwear line. I chose them because I thought they would be a perfect pair with jeans (pun intended), my uniform for fall, and they look fantastic. I love the shape of the toe and the Mary-Jane-ness of them. I find myself smoothing and re-smoothing the touchable outer fabric.
So now my worries are gone. I am no longer in fear of only being able to wear shoes that are just good for my feet. If you too are in need of shoes that support your feet and keep your body feeling alive and well, check out the selection at Sole Provisions. Your feet with thank you.
The shoes were received as compensation but all opinions are my own. Thank you for being supportive of our sponsors.
I am LOVING these. I am a teacher and standing all day is so hard on my feet. Birkenstocks really help, but I always feel so unprofessional when I wear them. These would be a perfect fall shoe for me. Time to start saving my pennies :)
They have really saved my feet and back (legs, ankles and knees too). And they are so good looking! :)
