I had a different printable post planned for today but after this week, the first week back to reality after the holidays, I thought a to do list printable might be more applicable. At least it’s applicable to me; hopefully it will help you out too. There are times I wonder why we take vacations or go on trips. Reentry back to real life a bit soul crushing. Like, ‘Really? This is my life?” kind of thing. By the second week though, I’ve forgotten what a break is like and life goes on. Tripping, stumbling along. :)

Making a list in the evening of items to do and accomplish the next day helps me plan my day better. Things from dinner prep to errands to phone calls, the day runs so much smoother when I think it through. Yes, I do wing it often enough but it feels better with forethought. Some people might find it overwhelming to write out everything but I like it better when it’s on paper and out of my head.

But let’s be honest, real life is a practice in scheduled chaos. It really doesn’t matter what is on the list, the unexpected, big or small, can happen and everything changes. See my emergency appendectomy. This list making might make things appear under control but we know it’s bogus. I’m going to keep up the ruse.

Now to the lists. I’m particular about my lists. Most of mine are on scrap paper because I have a lot of it laying around. I like to fold an 8.5″ x 11″ sheet in half, getting two days from each piece. The fold is crucial for a couple reasons. It makes the paper perfect size for a list and gives me two separate list areas. The folded paper has a weightier feel, which I like, without using nicer, more expensive paper. And I can write in permanent (fine-tip) marker and the ink doesn’t show through to the second list. I always begin my list in the upper left hand corner with the fold on the left. It’s a list-making science. I’m weird. I said that, right?

Keeping all those points in mind, I created four (4) to do list variations. Two basic versions, lines and markings for the day and notes, and two not-so-basic versions splashed with watercolors. Two have fewer, more spaced out lines and two have more, closer together lines. It’s all up to you.
