Turkey Bottle Cap Necklace

It’s Thanksgiving week so making something ‘turkey’ific is a must, right? Last year, we made turkey placemats and turkey cookies.

A glittery, bottle cap turkey necklace for Love Bug fits the beak bill.

Supplies

  • Bottle cap
  • Spray paint (or spray glitter)
  • Googly eyes
  • Felt – I used the stiffer variety, though I think the other kind will work.
  • Jump ring and necklace string

I tasked a couple of inebriated kind friends of mine to save their bottle caps for me and, over time, they’ve given me quite a few which is good because there are so many other fun things to make with bottle caps.

After a coat of primer, I covered the cap with the new Krylon Glitter Blast glitter spray in bronze blaze. Bug’s turkey was going to have a bit of bling.

I used a hammer and nail to make a hole for the jump ring.

Turkey tail feathers.

I first layered two circles of felt to ‘fill’ the bottle cap and make the surface flush. Then stuck on the tail feathers with glue and let it dry.

Some googly eyes, a felt beak and waddle finished off the sparkly turkey. I looped some black cord through the jump ring to make it a necklace.

Gobble, gobble, gobble!!

Take care.
