During my quasi break, we finished giving our belongings the KonMarie treatment. Most of our miscellaneous belongings, things we don’t need, are still packed up but it feels so much better now. Our things are better organized and the stuff we don’t need or want is gone. It was a short trip down memory lane too. Mementos from our younger years, outgrown baby clothes, doodles by the children. We have, and have had, a good life.
When we went through things for the children, I found photo albums, flippy books things, designed for little hands. I’d put them together for Love Bug, when she was itty bitty. They held pictures of MJ and me and others who loved her. I added handwritten names on slips of paper, too. As I held them in my hands, I considered redoing them for Pipsqueak, getting new photos, writing new names. Unfortunately, most of the images had adhered to the plastic coverings so I tossed them. Then, as if on cue, Pinhole Press asked if we were interested in trying their new Mini Book of Names and Faces for baby. Perfect timing!
It was simple as can be and a real treat because it gave me the opportunity to go searching through my photo files for images of our loved ones. It turned out so sweet! Who wouldn’t love a book where everyone’s smiley, shiny-eyed faces are looking out?
Despite what I could capture with Pipsqueak, the book offers spots for 13 pictures and corresponding names on colorful pages. No hand-written labels needed. It seemed like every page I put it on, Pipsqueak would flip it to something else. Haha! He thought it was great fun! I think the book will get gnawed on, the corners will get scuffed (so get the glossy finish!). It will be loved and will look that way.
Want to make a book yourself? As readers of this heart of mine, you can get $10 off your first Mini Book of Names & Faces using the code HEART. It’s only good through Friday, August 1st, 2015, so hop to it!
