At the end of last week, me and the kiddos traveled down to Iowa to visit family. We did just about everything you can think of from traveling with a classroom bear, swimming, to staying up until 1am (not cool), to peppering the shoes off some biscuit dough (Love Bug in Nana’s kitchen), watching and acting out Despicable Me and small-town shopping (it’s the best!!).
My shopping consisted of snagging five, yes, five boxes of chocolate graham crackers since they have disappeared from any and all of the grocery stores around me. We’ve already eaten a whole batch of these.
So.Good.
I also perused the fabric store. Love Bug was almost more excited about all the fabric than me. She even picked out two ‘fafrics’ for herself. I’m creating a monster. A fabric-loving monster.
I could have oogled for a long time but Sweet J was interested too, interested in dragging stuff down. I picked two soft striped pieces and two springy green fat quarters. The red heart material was used in the apron my dad made me for Christmas. The fabric is so me I wanted a piece for myself.
I’m not sure yet what I will use the fabric for but that is hardly a necessary precursor for a purchase. :)
In addition to visiting family, I also spoke at a MOPs meeting, a group co-led by my cousin. It was so fun! Making stuff, making anything, with other people is my idea of a good time. Hello CL MOPs!
One project was two variations of simple folded books. The other project was spring inspired: tissue paper flowers.
I neglected to get pictures but there were so many bright, cheery flowers in the group. Come on spring!
No tutorials on anything yet but soon, I promise.
Now for the weekend part.
It’s been a long week for me. I know this for sure because of the number of spelling and grammatical errors I keep making in this post. Wow. Sorry if I missed correcting any….
I’m throwing in the towel for the week. Dunzo.
I’ll be back after the weekend, after I catch my breath.
The first day of spring is right around the corner and I am throwing a ‘Spring Fling’ series here on this heArt of mine. Five days, with multiple posts a day, all in the name of spring. It’s going to be grand.
More on that later.
Until then, have a great of the week and weekend.
Take care.
