Goals for 2016

While utter chaos for me personally, 2015 brought about steady growth for this heart of mine. Growth in numbers, growth is connections and partnerships and growth in dreams. I still love my job. I still love this work. After six years (six!), I still inwardly giggle when I explain my job to the unaware and then watch as the confusion sets in. Haha! I am so thankful for this opportunity and I’m so thankful for you all.

Goals for 2016:

Onward and upward – I’m hopeful for continued growth for this heart of mine. The calendar is filled and the plans are steep and I’m eager to get in the thick of it. In 2016, there will be more unique and inspiring DIYs, yummy, homemade recipes and stories about life. To help the process, I’ve hired a few behind-the-scenes assistants, lovely creatives to bring the ideas to life. It is a thrill for me to work among other like-minded makers. It’s a learning process as well and I’m loving it all.

Connecting – I want more. Whether it’s through comments or social shares, meeting makers in the real world or hosting maker events in my community, I want more real connecting. I’m working to plan events (more on this to come!) and to get myself out in my cities. If you have a question or comment or idea you think I’d love, send it my way! I work hard to respond to everything. I like hearing from you!

Big stretch – I love learning. I love trying new things. I love pushing myself, seeing what I can accomplish. I’m stretching myself and my business a bit this year. This year is all about experimenting. Calling it an experiment relieves a bit of the stress and anxiety I feel. I’ve jumped in the deep end or stepped off the cliff and man, I hope my floaties or wings work!

Balance – I’m (again) seeking balance. I could fill all my waking time hunched over my computer, my camera or my work space. I like the work and I know how the hustle works and I’m a bit of an obsessive fool. However, my goal is to adopt a more traditional work week and I want to be able to step away from it all without falling drastically behind. With additional help, improved processes and good boundaries on the workload, I’m feeling optimistic. I’m still hustling, I’m still working hard but there’s a big possibility that I will be doing it with smaller bags under my eyes. Haha!

Meditating and yoga – A small personal goal but I’m hoping in writing it down, I’ll do it. Both make me feel so good and are good for my body and mind. But life is busy (and super noisy) and yoga and meditating constantly get dropped off the list. Here’s to getting them back on.

The future is bright.

This is the second week of January but tell me, what are your goals for 2016?
