Hello! It’s Friday!

I know. It’s been a long time. Like, a long, long time. I’ve missed you and this space. I wish I could sit down with you and we could talk about life. The highs, the lows, the crazy and especially the funny. Because laughing is the best.

I’m not sure where to start. Share what I’ve been doing? What I’m thinking about life? Working? Blogging? The plans I’m making? I don’t know. Since it’s up to me, I will do it the weird, organized way. :)

Here’s what I’ve been doing:

I’ve been doing lots and lots of mommy-ing. Three children and everything that comes with them makes life super busy. It’s down right nutty and we are headed into a super mess for the next few weeks. Hope I will still be in an upright position when it’s all over. Fingers crossed!

House stuff! We’ve completed more painting in the house. The dining room, front room, entry, and up the stairs have all been recoated and I love it! All the trim and doors have been painted too. It’s such a mess during the process but the end result is worth it. We also got new furniture for the deck, which we LOVE. And with the spring weather, we’ve started working outside too. The to-do list is forever long but it’s good. Hope to share some interior pics soon.

Work. Lots of work. I’m trying my hand and brain at a few new things. I’m still making and DIY-ing but I’m doing other stuff as well. I’m editing photos, doing some web site design and launching a new site. Yes. I’m a wee bit crazy. It’s my brain’s fault. Way more ideas than there is time. I will share more on all of that stuff too.

Thoughts? Plans?

Let’s see. Since I’m making it up as I go along, this is what I’ve got. I’m tired of making just to have something to share. I am a maker in real life but the business making just to share it is exhausting. To be “successful”, to get hits and traffic and pins, the making requires lots of thinking, planning, social media, sharing and post-publishing marketing and lots of things I’m glossing over. There is nothing wrong with the process. This is a business, I get it. This isn’t a job where one gets to make whatever whenever and expect to “make it”. The super successful sites work super hard!

However, the process doesn’t work for me. At least me in this form. I want to be helpful and inspire people and in this form, I couldn’t figure out how to it. Not as well as I wanted anyway (which is why I built The Goods). I love this space. I created it and worked it for five years so I’m not ready to toss it. But it’s changing.

Going forward, I hope to share more low key stuff. Updates on the house, projects I’ve done with the children, projects I’ve done because I wanted to make something. They probably won’t be often – life is crazy – they will be authentic and real.
