How to Make a Guest Room Essentials Basket

How to Make a Guest Room Essentials Basket | this heart of mine

This post is sponsored by Cottonelle and their new Mega 4-in-1 roll.

With the new house, we were nominated to host a holiday gathering for my side of the family this year. MJ and I are eager, if just a bit nervous. It will be wonderful to share our space with my family and be together for a few days over the holidays. However, we haven’t hosted anything like this before; none of our past residences were big enough to have the whole crew at the same time. Now that we can, we are going to make the most of it and really enjoy ourselves.

Before the move, we owned three beds, quickly adding two more when we arrived. Now everyone has their own bed and the extra is in the guest room. But the guest room….. I’ve always wanted a legitimate guest room and while we have a bed, that’s it. Sorry, there is a lamp in there, too. Until now, we’ve only offered a stack of mismatched blankets to our visiting family but we are going to fix that. Now the room is organized and set. Picked up bedding this weekend. And, my favorite part, a guest room essentials basket. I’ve always wanted to make one!

A guest room essentials basket is collection of items a guest might find they need while visiting your home. Like the toiletries in a hotel but without the super germ-riddled remote. :) Instead of having to ask or rifling through drawers and cupboards on their own, guests have access to the items right in their room.

Another added benefit of the essential basket is allowing your guests privacy. Instead of having to ask for cotton swabs to use however, guests can just use them. Privately. So fix one up and add in the good stuff. Bath tissue, like Cottonelle Mega 4-in-1 roll, is essential. Everyone uses it and no one wants to ask for it when the roll runs out and it’s not in the cupboard they think it should be in. Plus, with the Mega roll, it should last a good long time.

  1. A small sewing kit would be a wonderful addition along with a stain stick pen. Thank you for thought process prompters.
