Photo Catch-Up

We were able to settle back into regular life over the weekend, thanks to a giant snow storm. With no place to go, the house got a good cleaning, Christmas decorations were hung and placed and the cooking/baking sessions began.

I have reevaluated and will hold off on my “Chocolate Christmas” plans. Having just put up the tree on the 12th, I decided maybe next year would be better for it. I will do a better job planning and hopefully have the time to do it. Still have some chocolaty things to share, like the votives below from z gallerie. I love candle light.

I was able to see lots of family last week. Despite the sad circumstance, it’s always nice to see a room filled witha bunch of people you’re related to. I’d kind of forgotten how big it was. With seven of the eight siblings (one, all the way from Alaska), five of her six children and 14 of 18 grandchildren, plus all Grandma’s nieces and nephews and cousins and then add in everyone’s spouses, it was one big group. And sometimes, we are a loud bunch. : ) It was great to see everyone and exchange stories and laughter about Grandma and the havoc my dad and his siblings brought about in their youth. Life should be celebrated and we did just that.

SNOW-MAGEDEON!!!

From Friday night through Saturday, we got dumped on by one heck of a snow storm. Then, when it finished dumping, the winds picked up and blew it all around. By Saturday night, some places looked like a white version of the desert sand dunes. Oh, and it’s really really cold. Lovely weather.

Here are some pictures of the snow, none of them spectacular in any way. It was a bit bright so Bug couldn’t pose for the camera though I wanted to use her as a reference point.

New favorite way to wake up in the morning: a bulldozer’s reverse beep going on and on and on. Ah, serenity. Think we are expecting more snow this week so I understand the preparation.

So again, not great pictures but it is evidence of the massive amount of snow we received.

Alright, see you tomorrow.

Hope to post a few pictures of art stuff, just in case anyone has more Christmas shopping to do.
