I must tell you.
My whole body is sore. And I am really, really tired. The big sore spots like my back, legs and arms are a given. But my forearms, my hands, even my fingers? I wasn’t expecting that. However, we did move A LOT of items this weekend. I’m typing from the new location and my computer is perched a top of dresser. Not especially ergonomic but it will do for now. We have boxes and baskets and paper bags filled with items needing a home. But the big move is done. All that is left is finessing. And finessing could take a while.
Needless to say, I didn’t do much else this weekend than schlep our stuff from here to there. The aforementioned soreness proves that. But today, normal life resumes again. The art show is up, we aren’t traveling and MJ has lamentably returned to work after a week spent together as a family. I have a load of photos to edit! It’s going to be strange to have such a ‘normal’ week.
Cooking, baking and eating are a constant, no matter what else is going on. I’m looking forward to trying a few new recipes this week along with lots of favorites. Just in case you are having trouble thinking of dishes to make this week, here are a few ideas.
I have the ingredients for this one already, I just haven’t made it yet. I don’t know why I’ve waited. It’s so delicious.
Using homegrown tomatoes from mom and PC, we devoured this last week. So good.
We’ve enjoyed some perfect peaches lately, just haven’t incorporated them into anything.
Seriously. Yum.
This was one of our meals last week and the left-overs got me through the move on Saturday. I was only sad there were not more left.
I have homegrown cucumbers waiting to be made-over.
These are two items I hope to make soon. If you haven’t tried the galette dough yet, you must. There’s just nothing like it.
If you need me, I’ll be cleaning, organizing and building forts. And laughing.:)
Have a great Monday!
Take care.
Love the photo of the children. Wish I could be there to watch. They are soooo beautiful.
