I had a brand new opportunity this fall: I was asked to contribute photos for a Winter Jewelry LookBook for Uncommon Goods. Me!? So cool! Along with other cool peeps like Katherine from Of Corgis & Cocktails, Katrina from the demure muse and Nicole of Rose Runs Wild, we photographed beautiful handmade jewelry pieces in fall and wintery looks.
Since I worked on the photos before the season arrived, I had to really think what my fall and wintery style entailed. Over the summer I did a little style research on and for myself. While I still don’t have it all figured out, I’m glad I spent the time doing it. I appreciate most kinds of style but for me personally, I am most comfortable in classic, clean lines. I wear my jeans and simple tops for casual dress and when I dress up, I like simple, classic shapes. I feel really fancy in black although I have been talked into wearing other colors and they feel good too.
When I was younger, my wardrobe bordered on masculine. I held comfort over fashion. I still love comfort but I like pairing them with feminine details like boot socks, polka dot tights, coats with good shape, beautiful vintage handkerchiefs and jewelry. I don’t wear a lot of jewelry but when I do, I feel better. Fancier.
For the holidays in my home, I love the rustic and worn, I love sparkly white lights and I love the cozy. Each year I consider trying a new style or trend but, in the end, I can’t. I like what I like. I’m fairly sure I could have sparkly white lights somewhere in my home all year long and feel happy each and every time I see them.
Tell me, what do you like? What is your style for the season?
The pieces I styled: Love Birch Cuff and Blue Pinecone Necklace by Nancy Nelson – Zen Rain Necklace and Windy Grass Earrings by Eileen Baumeister McIntyre

Beautiful choices in the jewelry and beautifully photographed/styled.
Lovely photography and styling as always! Those white lights make me eager for Christmas decor… which is NOT going up until after I host Thanksgiving dinner. :)
