Cake –
Combine together in bowl:
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
In a saucepan, bring to a boil:
1/2 cup oil
1 stick butter
1 cup water
4 Tbsp cocoa powder
Pour the boiled mixture over the flour/sugar mixture while hot. Mix well.
Add in:
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs beaten
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
Pour into 11×16 inch greased pan and bake at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes.
While cake is baking, make the icing.
Icing –
Bring to boil in saucepan:
1 stick butter
4 Tbsp cocoa
1/3 cup buttermilk
Add:
3 1/2 cups powder sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Beat and spread over cake while both are hot.
Eat while warm and see if you can eat just one.

Amy – Brent and I tried making this. They looked nothing like this! It was all gooey! What did we do wrong!!?
Was the cake gooey or the frosting? Did you cook it long enough? That is the only thing I can think of. Sorry! You should try to again because they are wonderful. :)
